Polda Metro Arrests Perpetrators Of Child Blackmailing: Mode Of Using Porn Videos

JAKARTA - The police arrested a man with the initials AGP (37) in connection with a extortion case worth millions of rupiah. In fact, there is an element of threatening the spread of pornographic content behind it.

"The arrest of the suspect is suspected of being a criminal act of threats through electronic media and or not being criminally pornographic," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, to VOI, Thursday, September 5.

The extortion action started when the victim received a message via the Whatsapp application from the suspect. The contents, pornographic photos and videos played by the suspect along with the victim's mother.

In that message, the suspect asked for Rp1 million. If it is not fulfilled, the pornographic content will be distributed.

"Feeling threatened, the reporter then sent Rp. 200,000 to the suspect's account," he said.

Even though he had received the money, the suspect again threatened to distribute the pornographic content if the victim did not send his shortcomings.

So, the victim again sent money with the same nominal as before. A few days later, the suspect acted again by asking for some money.

But at that time, the suspect did not get a response. This is because the victim decided to report the extortion to the police.

Based on the report, the police also conducted an investigation and arrested the suspect on August 30.

"Currently, the suspect AGP has been detained at the Polda Metro Jaya detention center for further investigation," said Ade.

In this case, the suspect is charged with Article 29 in conjunction with Article 45B of Law No. 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, and/or Article 4 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 29 of Law No. 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography.
