Member of the Special Committee (Pansus) for the 2024 Hajj Organizing Committee of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, hopes that Ministry of Religion officials (Kemenag) will fulfill the summons from the Special Committee to attend meetings and provide testimony as witnesses."We hope that Ministry of Religion officials will come when summoned," Saleh told reporters after attending a surprise inspection (sidak) conducted by the Hajj Questionnaire Special Committee at the Integrated Hajj Information and Computerization System Office (Siskohat), Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, September 4.Meanwhile, according to other members of the Hajj Anggat Special Committee, namely Marwan Jafar, the presence of the Ministry of Religion is important so as not to hinder the work of the Special Committee in exploring several problems in the implementation of the 2024 Hajj, such as the allocation of additional hajj quotas that contradict the provisions of Article 64 of Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah."So it hinders the Special Committee and also the Ministry of Religion, its officials deliberately avoid it and do not want to come to the Special Committee because there are indeed many frauds that have been committed by the Ministry of Religion," said Marwan.Next, Saleh said that the absence of the Ministry of Religion was something that prompted the Special Committee to carry out inspections, as was done at Siskohat.Previously on the same occasion, Deputy Chairperson of the Special Committee for Hajj Angkat DPR RI Marwan Dasopang had conveyed that the main reason his party conducted an inspection at Siskohat was to confirm information from the Ministry of Religion, which stated that the Head of Sub-Directorate for Siskohat, Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah, Ministry of Religion Hasan Affandi, was in Makkah, Saudi Arabia so that he could not fulfill the summons of the Special Committee, which was the correct statement.
