X Launches Smart TV Apps To Watch Videos On Big Screen
JAKARTA - Platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has launched a new smart TV app that allows users to watch videos uploaded on this platform live from the big screen. This move is part of X's short-term strategy to compete with big video platforms like YouTube.
This TV app is now available on the Google Play Store, Amazon App Store, and LG's app store. However, Apple TV users still have to be patient, because this new app is not yet available on the App Store for tvOS. Currently, Apple TV only displays the old Twitter app, and there is no update regarding when the X TV app will be available for the platform.
This TV app allows users to explore various videos uploaded on X, including live shows and news content, in addition to video recordings from their favorite creators. Even though this service is free, users still need to log in with their X account to access content.

Prior to the launch of this application, users who want to watch video X on the big screen must use the cast feature of their iOS or Android devices. With the presence of the original TV app, users can now navigate the catalog of X-wide video content more easily and without the need to connect with their smartphone.
This move signifies X's ambition to expand its service coverage, which previously included integration with payment platforms, professional networks, and communications. By introducing the TV app, X strives to become a major competitor in the video streaming market, providing a more immersive experience for users.
In further development, it remains to be seen whether X will expand this service with other features or even create new platforms, such as dating apps to help its users find a partner. Along with this innovation, X continues to show his determination to become more than just a social media platform.
