PSSI Reminds Liga 2 2024/2025 Must Run Cleanly, Don't Dare To Play Soap

JAKARTA - Liga 2 2024/2025 officially starts on September 7, 2024, opening with the match Persibo Bojonegoro vs Gresik United. PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir emphasized that there should be no fraud in Indonesia's second level competition.

Erick also ensured that he would not provide a gap for individuals who try to play soap in Liga 2 by arranging matches and others. The chairman of PSSI did not hesitate to act decisively because he admitted that he had received many complaints about fraud in Liga 2.

"Who plays soap in League 2, I will definitely brush. Remember that," said Erick Thohir during the opening ceremony of Liga 2 in South Jakarta on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Erick further also explained that the contribution to League 2 contestants would be increased. Therefore, he asked all parties involved to take care of each other.

The chairman of PSSI also emphasized that the image of sponsors must be maintained. You do this by holding a competition that is clean, smooth, safe, and entertaining. Erick also hopes that there will be no more commotion in football.

"The contribution from the league will gradually increase, but we will see. This pawnshop will see in one year how the transformation of football is," said Erick.

Finally, Erick left a message to the competition manager, namely PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) to carry out the competition well. Moreover, the role of LIB is very vital for the successful implementation of Liga 2 this season.

In the 2024/2025 Liga 2 edition, the competition will last until February 23, 2025. A total of 26 participating teams will be divided into three groups at the beginning of the round before stepping into the next round.
