Erick Thohir Regarding NIK-Based KRL Subsidies: There Is No Ratas
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir opened his voice about the discourse of a population identification number (NIK)-based KRL subsidy scheme.
He admitted that the Ministry of SOEs had not been invited to discuss the discourse.
Sakadar informs that the Ministry of SOEs is the controlling shareholder of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI. KAI itself is the parent company of PT KAI Commuter as the operator of KRL.
"We haven't, haven't. Usually there are averages (limited meetings at the Presidential Palace) and usually, we follow," said Erick after a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, September 2.
Erick said the policy regarding the sindiri KRL subsidy was not in the Ministry of SOEs. He said the KRL tariff subsidy was a state assignment carried out by PT KAI and KAI Commuter.
"We are BUMN, it's not the ministry that takes policy or policy. I'm not throwing the problem, we follow the policy. When for example it's always the PMN issue, oh why is this, you know, our PMN is an assignment, 90 percent is an assignment," he said.
Therefore, Erick said, whatever policy from the government, SOEs must follow. He also said he could not give an assessment of the policy.
"It's the same as the train, if there is a policy like that, I think we have to support it together. And I always support any policies taken by the government, because we are part of the government. So we never say it is wrong and right," said Erick.
For your information, the discourse on the KRL barisis NIK subsidy itself is contained in the Financial Note Book of the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN) for Fiscal Year 2025 which has been handed over by the government to the DPR.
The book of the Financial Note has been agreed upon by the government and has been submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in front of the Indonesian House of Representatives on August 16, 2024.
