South Sumatra OKU Prosecutor Checks Head Of Village For Suspected Of Corruption In Village Funds For The Suspension Bridge Project

JAKARTA - The District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra, has investigated village heads for alleged corruption in village funds for the construction of a suspension bridge in Bedegung Village, Semidang Aji District.

Chief Prosecutor Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), Bayu Paramesti said that the investigation of MY, the Head of Bedegung Village, Semidang Aji District, was suspected of having committed a criminal act of corruption in the construction of a suspension bridge in a local village.

"We are currently still waiting for the results of the audit of state losses by the Financial Supervisory and Development Board (BPKP) and examining witnesses, including examining the village head," said Bayu as quoted by Antara, Monday, March 29.

The suspension bridge was built using village funds for the 2019 fiscal year with funds of around Rp. 400 million.

"We have not yet named a suspect. However, what is certain is that this case will continue to be developed," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Bedegung Village, Muhamad Yanoh, confirmed that he had been questioned by the OKU District Prosecutor's Office.

Summons to him to be asked for information regarding the rehabilitation of the suspension bridge in Bedegung Village, which was built in 2019.

Yanoh explained that the suspension bridge was rehabilitated using village funds with a budget of around Rp. 400 million to develop the potential of the village across the river.

"It is true that I was summoned by investigators from the OKU Prosecutor's Office. Maybe it was just an administrative error, so I asked for a solution," he said.
