Attorney General: There Should Be No Strength To Intervene Or Lead To A Legal Process
Attorney General ST Burhanuddin emphasized that no other party can intervene in the Adhyaksa Corps, especially in handling cases.
The statement was made by Burhanuddin when delivering his mandate at the moment of the commemoration ceremony for the 79th Birthday of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office.
"As the only holder of the prosecution authority in this country, as well as a symbol of the sovereignty of prosecution, of course there should not be any other force that can intervene or direct the legal process that we are not in line with," said Burhanuddin at the Indonesian Prosecutor's Education and Training Agency, Ragunan, South Jakarta, Monday, 2 September.
All ranks of the Adhyaksa Koprs must maintain independence. Then, every action taken must reflect a firm attitude.
However, it is undeniable that this is not an easy matter. However, it is believed that all members of the Prosecutor's Office can do it.
"So here, the Prosecutor's Office, apart from being the highest public prosecutor, is also a state lawyer. This task is not easy. We are often faced with various pressures both from within and outside, which have the potential to disrupt the integrity and independence of law enforcement," said Burhanuddin.
