Labuan Bajo immigration deported Malaysian national for shouting, cursing at cashier and raising middle finger
KUPANG - The Class II Immigration Office of TPI Labuan Bajo deported a foreign national (WNA) from Malaysia for reportedly disturbing public order in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). "The foreigner with the initials CGH (47) has been deported today, September 1, 2024," said Head of the Class II Immigration Office of TPI Labuan Bajo Jaya Mahendra in a statement received in Kupang, Antara, Sunday, September 1. Deportation was carried out after CGH was reported by PT Blue Marlin Dive Center and Scuba Republik Komodo for causing a commotion and disturbing public order. CGH was reported by PT Blue Marlin Dive Center for threatening and issuing inappropriate words to cashiers and receptions as well as spat in the Scuba Republik Komodo office. "In addition, CGH also violates the provisions and rules that have been set when diving which can endanger the safety of the soul, damage diving devices, shout and press long horns that make a fuss and while pointing the middle finger," he said. After being reported on August 27, 2024, the Labuan Bajo Immigration Office immediately conducted passport checks and detentions on August 28, 2024, and on August 29, 2024, CGH was entered into the Detention Room of the Labuan Bajo Immigration Office before deportation was carried out on September 1, 2024. “In accordance with the direction of the Director General of Immigration, Mr. Silmy Karim, that Immigration must be firm but measurable, every foreigner who interferes with it "security and public order will be subject to strict sanctions in the form of deportation and silting to provide a deterrent effect and also a precedent for other foreigners, both tourists, foreign workers, and investors," he said. Head of the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Section of the Immigration Office Class II TPI Labuan Bajo Argayuna Nur Indrawan explained that CGH had been declared to have committed immigration violations as stipulated in article 75 paragraph 1 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. "It is known that CGH had also experienced problems before by Thai Immigration in 2017 by entering Bangkok City and Xian Lai City without having a passport," he said. He explained that immigration officials are authorized to carry out immigration administrative actions against foreigners who are in Indonesian territory who carry out dangerous activities and should be suspected of endangering security and public order or not respecting or disobeying statutory regulations.
