Arriving At The Jakarta Palace, Risma Pamit Jokowi Stops Being Social Minister
Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini met with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday morning after officially registering as a candidate for Governor of East Java (East Java).
"Yes," said Risma confirming that she had met President Jokowi, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 30.
However, he did not answer when asked about the agenda of meeting with the President.
Risma, who wore a red and dark blue batik, also did not answer when confirmed whether her meeting with the President to discuss her resignation as Social Minister after registering as the East Java governor.
Risma just smiled at the reporters' questions and rushed to leave the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta by riding her official car.
Previously, the candidate for Governor of East Java who was promoted by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI) Tri Rismaharini confirmed that he would resign from the position of Minister of Social Affairs to contest the 2024 East Java Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
"Come on, I will resign," he said when asked about his position as Social Minister, after a pilgrimage to the Sunan Bungkul Cemetery, Surabaya, last Thursday.

Regarding his resignation plan, Risma will meet President Joko Widodo on Friday and directly ask to resign because she wants to focus on nominating the East Java Pilkada.
"Tomorrow, God willing, if possible, ask the President for time to resign. But the rules are not regulated. But I will resign. And that is his authority," said Risma, who is also the former mayor of Surabaya for two periods.
