33 Malaysian Network Narcotics Syndicate Arrested By Riau Police, Evidence Value Of IDR 34 Billion
The Riau Police's Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) arrested 33 smugglers of methamphetamine and ecstasy pills. This operation was carried out from July 11 to August 22, 2024.
All suspects were detained at several locations in Pekanbaru City, Bengkalis, to Sulawesi. All the arrested suspects had the initials FR, ALP, SRH, J, N, DM, IS, RD, MZ, KM, BA, AS, J, ISS, DML, HA, AN, AS, JS, MN, SH, AD, AA, FS, HR, ES, DI, AS, IW, RM, IRW and SB.
Director of the Riau Police Narcotics Investigation Kombes Manang Soebeti revealed that these suspects have their respective roles. Starting from importers, dealers, controllers, couriers, to retailers. In this operation, the police confiscated 34 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 10,190 pills of ecstasy.
"The total amount of evidence that we confiscated from the perpetrators of this international network syndicate was 34 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 10,190 ecstasy pills. All of this evidence is worth Rp 34.8 billion. This much disclosure could save 340,656 lives if this item circulates," said Manang.
One of the biggest disclosures occurred in the vicinity of Lubuk Muda rat port, Siak Kecil District, Bengkalis Regency. After monitoring, officers saw a suspicious red minibus out of the port. From the car, the police arrested two suspects, 12 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, and 10,000 pills of ecstasy.
