Spokesperson Says Anies Is Still In Line With PDIP Criticizing The Pilkada Bill Even Though It Is Canceled
Spokesperson for Anies Baswedan, Sahrin Hamid, emphasized that Anies would continue to criticize the draft revision of the Pilkada Law, which is now being postponed by the DPR.
PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) previously rejected the Pilkada Bill when it was included in the discussion of the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR. Sahrin said Anies had a standing in line with the PDIP even though it was canceled in the 2024 Pilkada, both Jakarta and West Java.
"Yesterday's PDI-P became the only faction in the DPR to oversee the constitution by rejecting the continuation of the Pilkada Bill discussion, for example. We know that Mas Anies also conveyed the same thoughts," said Sahrin when met in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 29.
"Well, we will guard this priority, concentration, and similarity of vision and must continue," he continued.
Anies, according to him, did not feel disappointed with PDIP when the only party that was expected to provide a ticket for the Jakarta Pilkada nomination, canceled the investigation to Anies.
PDIP finally decided to carry its own cadres, namely Pramono Anung and Rano Karno who registered with the DKI Jakarta KPU on Wednesday, August 28.
"When the party decided that the nominations in DKI Jakarta were Pramono Anung and Rano Karno, there was not the slightest disappointment from Mas Anies regarding the PDI-P," said Sahrin.
Likewise with PDIP, according to Sahrin, it is not disappointed with Anies' rejection of the suspension in the West Java gubernatorial election. Moreover, continued Sahrin, the 2024 Pilkada is only one of the political moments that will soon pass.
"There are still many other momentums, the next political agenda in the future which of course requires cooperation, because after all political parties, Mas Anies, this is a figure who has been waiting for his attitude, thoughts, political examples by the community," said Sahrin.

Sahrin explained the reason Anies decided not to participate in the 2024 Pilkada contestation in West Java because there was no aspiration from the people of West Java to support the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.
"Indeed, West Java does not specifically have partnerships from community members or aspirations from political parties at the regional level or at the regional level," explained Syahrin.
So far, Anies' request to run for the 2024 Pilkada is only in the DKI Jakarta area. According to Sahrin, this aspiration has been revealed by many Jakarta residents, to regional party officials who have previously proposed his name.
"With various considerations, of course, Mas Anies decided not to run in West Java. God willing, tomorrow there will be a special delivery for the needs of the community or the public," he concluded.
