In detail, there are 8 pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor from political parties or coalitions of political parties that are accepted nationally.
Then, there were 8 pairs of candidates for regent and deputy regent from individuals received, 54 pairs of candidates for regent and deputy regent from political parties or coalitions of political parties received.
Then, 1 pair of candidates for mayor and deputy mayor from individuals received, 8 pairs of candidates for mayor and deputy mayor from political parties or coalitions of political parties received,
In addition, there are also 2 pairs of candidates for regent and deputy regent from political parties or coalitions of political parties whose registrations are returned.
"Provincial KPU and district/city KPU will receive registration for the nomination of regional heads for simultaneous elections in 2024 until Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 23.59 local time," said Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Mochammad Afifuddin in his statement, Wednesday, August 28.
KPU commissioner Idham Holik said his party would extend the registration period if until the deadline for the registration schedule there was only one candidate pair (paslon) who registered.
Idham explained that the decision to extend the registration time has been regulated in Article 135 of PKPU Number 10 of 2024. The extension of time will be increased three days later from the deadline, meaning until September 1, 2024.

The extension is carried out three days after the deadline.
