Two Toddlers In Palangka Raya Found Floating
JAKARTA - The Bukit Batu Police Sector, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan, has conducted an investigation regarding the drowning of two toddlers at Kali Panganen.
The Head of the Bukit Batu Police, Ipda, Dedi Satria Wiranto, said the incident took place on Jalan Nelayan, Tumbang Tahai Village, Bukit Batu District, Friday, March 26 at around 12.00 WIB.
"The two victims who are still minors with the initials SA (4) and his colleague with the initials KA (3) were found dead floating on the river measuring approximately 2 meters on Jalan Nelayan," said Dedi in Palangka Raya, quoted by Antara, Saturday, March 27th.
The police officer, who recently served as the Head of the Bukit Batu Police, explained that the witnesses with the initials AA (14) had the first two toddlers.
From the witness testimony, the victim initially said goodbye to play around the Panganen River, which is approximately 30 meters from the victim's house.
Not long after, the witness named Reni (23) who was the mother of one of the victims asked AA to look for the two victims who were his cousins.
"When AA arrived at the riverbank, he saw that both of them (the victim, ed.) Were already floating in the middle of the Panganen River. The witness also tried to help the victim by pulling both of them to the edge while shouting for the parents of the victim," said Dedi.
The two victims were found dead. The bodies of the two of them were immediately taken to the Puskesmas Tangkiling for a post mortem to determine the cause of death of the two victims.
He and his members immediately secured the crime scene by installing a police line for further investigation.
"In this incident we will also ask witnesses for statements with the aim of seeking clues as to whether this case was purely due to drowning or there was a criminal element," he said.
Based on the information gathered, the two victims have been playing on the edge of the Panganen River every day. The family did not expect the two of them to experience this tragic fate.
