Specialist Motorcycle Thief In West Jakarta And Central Jakarta Arrested By Police

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tamansari Metro Police has arrested a specialist in motorcycle theft with the initials WO (40). From the results of the examination, the suspect has several times carried out motorcycle theft.

The WO suspect launched a motorcycle theft on Jalan Kebon Jeruk XII, RT 10/05, Maphar Village, Tamansari District, West Jakarta.

"The perpetrators have stolen motorbikes in West Jakarta and Central Jakarta five times," said the Tamansari Metro Police Chief, Kompol Adhi Wananda when confirmed, Monday, August 26.

In the last incident, the suspect WO committed the theft of a blue Yamaha Mio motorcycle in 2014 with police number B 3494 BZU belonging to the victim Suratmin. At that time, the victim's motorbike was parked in the alley locked in a handlebar.

In the action, the perpetrator used the letter Y key that had been prepared previously to break the motorcycle key.

"After succeeding, the perpetrator took the motorbike to the Kampung Melayu Market area, Naga Bay, Tangerang Banten, and sold it to someone named Yudi for Rp. 800 thousand," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tamansari Metro Police, Kompol Suparmin, added that the WO suspect did not only commit theft once.

In addition to the Yamaha Mio B 3494 BZU motorbike, the suspect also stole Yamaha Mio J, Honda Vario, Honda Beat, and Yamaha Mio GT motorcycles in various locations in West Jakarta and Central Jakarta.

All stolen motorbikes are sold at varying prices ranging from Rp. 700 thousand to Rp. 1.2 million.

As a result of his actions, the suspect WO was charged with Article 363 paragraph 1 of the 5th Criminal Code regarding theft by weight.
