Escorting KSPI's Demonstration At KPU, Police Drop Thousands Of Personnel
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya deployed around 1,676 personnel to guard the demonstration of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) at the General Elections Commission (KPU) office, Sunday, August 25. "The security of this KSPI demonstration, from 09.00 to the end of a number of people, we have deployed 1,676 personnel," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol. Ade Ary Syam Indradi when confirmed, in Jakarta.
Ade Ary explained that the joint personnel consisted of Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Central Jakarta, TNI, Pemda DKI and related agencies.
Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro added that the closure of traffic flow in vital objects was situational.
"This means that traffic flow engineering will be implemented to see the development of dynamics in the field," he said.
Susatyo also emphasized to all personnel involved in security to always act persuasively, not provoked, prioritizing humane negotiations and services.
"The personnel involved in the security are not carrying firearms and still respect the protesters who will express their opinions," he said.
In addition, Susatyo appealed to field coordinators (Korlap) and action participants to take action in a polite, non-anarchic manner, maintain security and order, so that action activities can run safely and in an orderly manner according to all expectations.
