Big Chance Of Winning Anies In The 2024 Presidential Election, Can Follow In Jokowi's Footsteps Or Rows Of Governors In The US

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicator Survey Institute puts the name of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in the first position as a presidential candidate who is expected to attract the most public votes in the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres).

"I think Anies has the potential to win the presidential election, because he has social capital, Jakarta development capital, a good track record. He is an alternative figure whose quotes can bring Indonesia forward, respectfully," said Andriadi Achmad when contacted by VOI, Friday, March 26.

Moreover, he continued, Anies in the eyes of the world today has seen many achievements. Especially, it can restore Jakarta from being included in the top 10 congested cities, and make it a neatly ordered city in the world.

"It is like presidents who are in the United States. Because the president in the US is usually from state governors who might be considered successful," said Andriadi.

The Executive Director of the Political Communication Studies and Research Center (PolCom SRC) added that President Joko Widodo had already proven such experiences. Where, he occupied the palace because he had been governor, even at that time he was still serving as DKI 1.

"Indonesia has started Jokowi in Jakarta, maybe this could be an obstacle or an opportunity for Anies to prepare for (the 2024.red presidential election)," he said.

Anies' obstacle, said Andriadi, is that the government's decision on simultaneous regional elections will be eliminated in 2022. If 2022 is not implemented, Anies will wait to be nominated as a presidential candidate in 2024. If, 2022, the DKI Pilkada is held, it will be a stepping stone for Anies to get tickets for the Presidential Election.

"There should be a Jakarta Pilkada. If the elections are held simultaneously in 2024, Anies will automatically be a stepping stone to prepare for the presidential election," he said.

However, this political observer from Bengkulu thinks Anies is still more likely than his rivals, such as Ridwan Kamil, Ganjar Pranowo, Puan Maharani and even Gatot Nurmantyo.

"That's a big enough chance for Anies for 2024. Compared to the emerging candidates, such as RK, Puan, or Gatot," said Andriadi.

Previously, the Indonesian Political Indicator Survey Institute released a number of names that are expected to attract the most public votes in the 2024 presidential election. As a result, the name of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan took first place to become a presidential candidate with a percentage of 15.2 percent.

Meanwhile, in the second and third positions there are Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.

"So if young people are asked the 17 names with the highest, even though the range of margin of error with Ganjar Pranowo, including Ridwan Kamil, in general there is no dominant name first. But the 17 names that are absolute highest are Anies Baswedan at number 15. , 2 percent, Ganjar 13.7 percent, the difference is insignificant, "said Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi in an online survey release, Sunday, March 21, 2021.

Followed by Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno 9.8 percent, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto 9.5 percent, and there is the name Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) at 4.1 percent.
