Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Launches Free Conversion Program For 1,000 Electric Motors
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) officially launched a 1,000-unit free motorcycle conversion program for the people of Jabodetabek.
"By saying Bismillah, the conversion of conventional motorcycles into electric motorcycles for free of 1,000 units for the people of Jabodetabek will begin," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dadan Kusdiana in Jakarta, Thursday, August 22.
The provision of free conversion is a collaboration between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources by cooperating with business entities through the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.
In his speech, Dadan said, the use of electric motors is considered cheaper when compared to conventional motorbikes. The reason is, to cover a distance of 35 km, conventional motorbikes can spend 1 liter pertamax for Rp. 13,700. Meanwhile, with a conversion electric motorbike, with the same distance, users only issue 1 kWH of electricity.
Dadan further said that currently 500 conversions of electric motorcycles have been carried out in the first and second stages as many as 500 units targeted to be completed within 2 weeks.
"Maybe this is finished in two weeks. The registration has been opened. Do you know how long the conversion will take? Two hours is also finished," said Dadan.
Present on the same occasion, Director General of EBTKE, Eniya Listiani Dewi, said that the budget disbursed by the government for the conversion program of 1,000 motorbikes was Rp. 14.8 billion with a subsidy of Rp. 10 million per motorbike.
"Well, this is indeed helped from Rp. 10 million plus CSR. So indeed there is an additional fee of Rp. 10 million plus Rp. 7 million or Rp. 5 million or Rp. 6 million. It varies depending on the type of motorbike," concluded Eniya.
