Airlangga: Indonesia's Active Cases And Recovery Rate Are Better Than The World

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) Airlangga Hartarto said the number of active cases and recovery or recovery rates in the country is better than world figures.

In a press conference, Airlangga initially reported the development of the COVID-19 case in Indonesia. Based on the data it has, the current cumulative cases reached 1,482,559 people while the positivity rate reached 11.49 percent.

"Then the national active cases are 8.45 percent, the world is 17.06 percent. The fatality rate is 2.7 percent, the world is 2.2 percent, and our recovery rate is also better than the world. We are 8.8 percent and the world is 8.74 percent, ”said Airlangga in an online press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Friday, March 26.

Furthermore, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs explained that currently the implementation of PPKM Mikro which was running from March 23 to April 5 was also carried out in a number of other provinces, namely South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, and West Nusa Tenggara.

Even though it has reached various provinces outside Java-Bali, in the future PPKM Mikro will be upgraded in various regions and the criteria are tightened.

"As directed by the President, PPKM Mikro will add its territories. After April 5, we will add five more provinces based on existing data, "he said.

"After April 5, we will tighten the PPKM Micro criteria," he concluded.
