Making State Losses, 10 ODOL Trucks In Bogor Cut Off By The Director General Of Hubdat
BOGOR - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Land Transportation continues to crack down on rogue trucks caught with overdimension overloading (ODOL). This is because trucks operating with dimensional specifications do not comply with the rules and can endanger road users and damage infrastructure.
"We are aware that if transportation is disrupted, the national economy will also be disrupted. The impact of ODOL violations is increasingly being felt. Therefore, we are taking control measures," said Director General of Land Transportation Budi Setiyadi in his statement, Wednesday, March 24.
According to him, from the report of the Minister of PUPR in one year the state losses due to ODOL reached Rp. 43 trillion. For this reason, he asked for strict sanctions on all Motor Vehicle Weighing Implementing Units (UPPKB) to enforce control.
"In order to make this happen, all UPPKB under the guidance of the Directorate General of Land Transportation will take control steps through tightening the inspection of goods transport vehicles crossing national roads, normalization, cargo transfer, E-ticketing, and enforcement through the P21 stage," he explained.
Supporting Director General Budi's statement, Head of the Land Transportation Management Agency (BPTD) Region IX of West Java Province, Denny Michels Adlan, in his report stated that 63,770 had been prosecuted during 2020.
"UPPKB Kemang during 2020, has taken action against more than 18,616 vehicles or 29 percent of the total national prosecution of West Java," he said.
He continued, in 2021 the BPTD Region IX of West Java Province has also taken action against 32,960 vehicles and at UPPKB Kemang as many as 5,500 vehicles.
Previously, the vehicle normalization process from 10 companies had been carried out with 22 normalized vehicles and a periodic test process was carried out at the Motor Vehicle Periodic Test Implementing Unit (UPUBKB).
"This success is inseparable from the support of various parties including the Police, the Regional Government, the Karoseri and the public who have an awareness of the importance of prosecuting ODOL violations," concluded Denny.
