Roads Often Damaged, Director General Hubdat Cut 10 ODOL Trucks

BOGOR - To reduce the high number of traffic accidents and road damage caused by Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL) truck offenders. Director General of Land Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, again cut or normalized 10 units of vehicles resulting from the action.

"Since 2018, the Directorate General of Land Transportation has been active in controlling ODOL violations in order to realize the National ODOL Zero in 2023," said Director General Budi, Wednesday, March 24.

10 units of rogue trucks that were normalized came from the results of prosecution from the Kemang Motor Vehicle Weighing Implementing Unit (UPPKB), Balonggandu UPPKB, and Losarang UPPKB. Given the number of road damage is still frequent.

"This program is carried out by the government as an action on the concern of rampant violations of cargo and vehicle dimensions on the road which have resulted in road accidents and damage that could disrupt the movement of the national economy," he explained.

Previously, the vehicle normalization process from 10 companies had been carried out with 22 normalized vehicles and a periodic test process was carried out at the Motor Vehicle Periodic Test Implementing Unit (UPUBKB).
