The Screen Boat Drowned By Hurricane In Palermo Sisilia, 7 People Missing
JAKARTA - A 50-meter-long sailing boat with 22 people in it sank off the coast of the city of Palermo, Sicily. It was reported that 7 people were missing.
Italian Coast Guard and firefighters rescued 15 people, including a child, after the ship waving the British flag sank when a cyclone and violent sea waves hit the area at sunrise.
The ship carried 2 British-French nationals, an Irish citizen, a New Zealander and a Sri Lankan citizen, the Adnkronos news agency reported. While the rest are British citizens.
Reported by Reuters, Monday, August 19, all 15 people who were rescued were in stable condition.
Divers from firefighters continue to search around the ship, which is now at a depth of about 50 meters and a half miles off the coast.
