Luhut: IKN Is Not A City Founded In Colonial, But By Children Of The Nation
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan opened his voice about the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) on the commemoration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day which falls today.
Luhut emphasized that IKN is a capital city that is open to be founded by colonialism, but is a nation's son.
"With good planning and good development, IKN will become a capital city that was not founded by the colonialists us again. However, it was founded by the nation's children, from the nation's children's funds, planned by the nation's children and executed by the children of this nation," said Luhut, quoted from a video on his official Instagram account @luhut.pandjaitan, Saturday, August 17.
During a visit to IKN a few days ago, Luhut stated that the transfer of the capital city from Jakarta to IKN was a big dream. He considered that the steps to move the capital city to IKN had begun to be realized.
In addition, Luhut also reminded that to achieve the great goal of realizing IKN, all parties must be united.
"The key is that we all have to be united. We cannot feel that only one person will make Indonesia good. Indonesia will not be able to advance or go to high income country without our cohesiveness together," he said.
Not only that, Luhut also talked about economic growth. He emphasized the importance of sustainable economic growth while maintaining the sustainability of the earth.
Therefore, Luhut emphasized that Indonesia's vision is development with an environmental perspective, which balance between community welfare and nature preservation is a top priority.

For this reason, Luhut continued, decentralization and equitable development became the foundation in achieving advanced Indonesia.
" Placing the foundation of a nation is a tough task, but keeping the building strong is a greater responsibility. This is a challenge for all of us, especially those who will continue the baton of leadership. Unity and unity between all elements of the Indonesian nation are not only moral values, but also strategic assets that are very important for the glory of the motherland," he concluded.
