Caught Using 'Gas Tawa', Yves Bissouma Diskors Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur sentenced Yves Bissouma for being caught wearing a hippy crack or laughter gas a few days before their opening match in the 2024/2025 Premier League.

The Ange Postecoglou manager crossed out Bissouma from the squad for the match against Leicester City on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, early morning WIB.

"He will not be available on Tuesday. We have suspended him from the match. He needs to rebuild that trust with me and the team."

"The door is open for him. We can help him realize that the decisions he makes have an impact on the team," Postecoglou told The Sun.

Bissouma's digital footprint is proof. He uploaded photos and videos while consuming the hippy crack after Spurs lost 2-3 to Bayern Munich in a pre-season match on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Not only riding the hippy crack, the 27-year-old showed a drinking party with his friends in a limousine.

In fact, Bissouma has apologized for his actions that did not consider the impact of consuming the illegal substance.

"I want to apologize for these videos. This is a lack of severe judgment."

"I understand how serious this is and the health risks involved. I also take my responsibility as a football player and a very serious role model," said Bissouma.

However, Postecoglou still has to give punishment for the deterrent effect to the player who violates discipline.

"He may have been suspended for one game, but he has to get it. The door is open to him".

"Hopefully we can help him realize that the decisions he makes have more than just him and allow him to make better decisions for his future," said Postecoglou.

"He deeply apologizes to me, the club, and everyone involved, but that's just a small part," said the manager again.

Hippy crack or laughter gas was declared illegal last year in Great Britain. The substance users face up to two years in prison and unlimited fines.

As is known, hippy crack or laughter gas is a nitrogen oxide that is usually used in medical procedures and dentistry.

However, hippy crack contains psychoactive substances and is often abused. The use of wrong nitrogen oxide can cause brain disorders, depression, memory loss, incontinence, hallucinations, and nerve damage.

Therefore, Spurs imposed sanctions on Bissouma because they had dangerous effects and violated the law.

The incident led the club to conduct further investigations. You see, there are threats of imprisonment and fines that lurk the midfielder.

"We are investigating the incident. This will be handled as an internal problem," read a Spurs statement.

Yves Bissouma started last season brilliantly, but then faded after being removed from the field against Luton in October 2023.

Archie Gray, 18, who was recruited for 40 million pounds from Leeds this summer, could be a substitute when Bissouma was convicted.
