NasDem Calls Anies Not Disappointed When Tofu Cancels Being Promoted As Cagub Jakarta
JAKARTA - The chairman of the NasDem Party DPP Willy Aditya revealed that Anies Baswedan was not disappointed with the NasDem Party's decision to dismiss him as a candidate for governor in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. "No, no one is disappointed. Friends can ask Mas Anies, and this is not an urgent decision, there are many dynamics, there are many variables that are all taken and discussed together with Mas Anies," said Willy at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 16. Willy said that his party had spoken privately with Anies before the General Chair Surya Paloh announced it last night. "Mr. Anies yesterday went to the NasDem DPP, it was Mr. Anies' house, so any time Mr. Anies came to talk, discussing many things we talked about, and Mr. Anies already understood the situation," said Willy. The decision, Willy said, was not taken unilaterally but also with Anies' agreement. "This decision was taken jointly not to applaud because it was a culture built by Mr. Surya. Everything was tough when we had a dialogue could be a meeting point. So nothing was covered up, gray was absent, all decisions came from deep talks with Mr. Anies, "explained Willy. Previously, the Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh stated that his party failed to carry Anies Baswedan as a candidate for governor in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.
Paloh emphasized this after meeting with the General Chair of the Gerindra Party as well as the elected President of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 15, 2024.

"Yes, it is clear (the reason for carrying Anies, ed)," Paloh told reporters.
Paloh claimed to have informed Anies regarding the cancellation of the suspension for the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. According to Paloh, it is no longer the right moment for Anies to take part in the Jakarta Pilkada contestation.
"I have informed Mr. Anies. Mr. Anies, as your younger brother, this is not your moment to run in the Greater Jakarta regional elections. We are looking for a more precise momentum in the future. There is an understanding," he said.
