PSI Supports Gusti Bhre-Astrid Pair In Solo Pilkada

SOLO - The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) has recommended the KGPAA Mangkunegara X-Astrid Widayani pair in the 2024 Surakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

Chairman of the Central Java PSI DPW Antonius Yogo said the recommendations came out after going through a meeting at the DPP level.

According to him, recommendations for both were given with various careful considerations.

"Today is officially the PSI DPP directly by the general chairman (PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep-ed) for the city of Surakarta on behalf of Sri Mulia Mulia Mangkunegara X pair Astrid Widayani," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 15.

He claimed that from the survey conducted, including in terms of pairing, the introduction of the people of Solo City, popularity, and electability, both recorded good numbers.

"Gusti Bhre has started leading, for Ms. Astrid the survey is also good. So the blend is right and is closed at the DPP and today it is submitted," he said.

As a follow-up to the issuance of the recommendation, his party will open communication with parties that are members of the major coalition to win the same recommendation, namely to carry Gusti Bhre-Astrid Widayani.

According to him, the major coalition that has been formed in Solo has agreed that any pair of mayors and deputy mayors proposed will still be won.

"We maintain communication with other parties, because all have agreed to carry Gusti Bhre for the mayor, so it's just a matter of determining the representative," he said.

Currently, his party is waiting for recommendations from other parties that are members of the major coalition, namely the Gerindra Party, PKB, PAN, PKS, and the Golkar Party.

Previously, the recommendation was given directly by PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep at the Kasablanka City Mall Hall, South Jakarta, Thursday. Gusti Bhre and Astrid Widayani were present at the submission of the recommendation letter.
