Ahead Of The 79th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia At IKN, Hutama Karya Ensures Readiness Of The Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau Toll Road

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK ensures the readiness of a number of its projects to support the commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan. There are six HK projects that will be operated functionally at the grand event.

For your information, for the first time the Independence Day of Indonesia was held at IKN, East Kalimantan. The event will be led directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), and attended by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and all ministers of the Indonesia Maju working cabinet and other invited guests.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said that to support the success of the grand event, Hutama Karya functioned for six of its projects.

The six projects are the IKN Segment 3A Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau Toll Road with project progress reaching 82 percent. Then, the Building and Office Area Project of the Coordinating Ministry 2 with a progress of 51.77 percent. Furthermore, the ASN 2 Flats reached 59.80 percent. Then, VVIP Airport was 67.77 percent; IKN Hospital reached 70.53 percent and IB Infrastructure Facilities of 38.38 percent.

The 9.965 km Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau IKN Segment 3A toll road which is one of Hutama Karya's projects through Operational Cooperation (KSO) with Adhi Karya and Brantas Abipraya (KSO HK-Adhi-Brantas) has been opened functionally and limited since last August 10.

"The project is functionalized to support the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony at IKN and is the main access for state officials, ceremony participants, and logistics distribution from Balikpapan to the Central Government Core Area (KIPP)," said Adjib in an official statement, Thursday, August 15.

Furthermore, Adjib said that the travel time from Balikpapan to KIPP was only 90 minutes, 30 minutes faster than through Samboja's access, which is estimated to travel for 120 minutes.

"To ensure that this toll function runs smoothly, we have implemented a number of strategies, especially in dealing with uncertain weather conditions, namely by routine monitoring and evaluation, paving and regular filtration at functional access locations, as well as coordination with related parties on a regular basis. We also provide the best quality guarantee and pay attention to environmental sustainability aspects and K3 in the field, "adjib added.

Meanwhile, continued Adjib, other functional projects include Towers 4 floors 3 and 4 in Building Projects and Office Areas of the Coordinating Ministry 2; Tower 6 floors 1 to 5 on the ASN 2 Flats Project; VVIP Airport Terminal Building, Sengge Treatment Plant, Ground Water Tank; Fire and Rescue Unit Aircraft Accidents; as well as Electric Substations or Substations 1 and 2.

Then, the 1st floor of the IKN Hospital project which includes the Lobby area, emergency room units, OK lab paint and OK Cito rooms, laboratories, as well as landscapes and facilities; as well as the 1B Infrastructure Facilities project, the road is functionalized from sta 0 - sta 140 towards the bridge, the road from STA 0 - 40 to the Presidential Pavilion and access roads that connect to the west axis of the Central Government Core Area (KIPP).

"Fungsionally, the entire Hutama Karya project, especially at KIPP, is expected to facilitate preparations to the implementation of the commemoration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day, both during the arrival process to health services for officers, officials, and state guests," said Adjib.

In addition to a number of projects that are functionalized at IKN, Hutama Karya is also working on other projects at IKN, including the 1 and 3 KIPP Waste Water Pipeline projects with 16.51 percent progress, the IKN Segment P. Balang - Sp. Riko Toll Road reached 28.29 percent, and the IKN State Mosque 18.75 percent.

Hutama Karya ensured that during the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Commemoration period at IKN, a number of Hutama Karya projects continued but there were restrictions on the process of transporting or transferring materials during the day in order to maintain the cleanliness of the surrounding area.

However, projects at KIPP or adjacent to the State Palace will be temporarily suspended from work operations from 10 to 18 August 2024.

With the opening of functional access, it can provide easy access to transportation for the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony and after the completion of all projects in IKN, they can realize smart cities (smart cities), create tourism destinations, and improve the economy of the surrounding area.
