Arief explained that this solidarity action is a form of state presence for the people at the border.

"Since last year we have held a border GPM on the momentum of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. This action is a form of government presence for people in border areas, so they can obtain food at a cheaper and more affordable price," said Arief in an official statement, Thursday, August 15.

In its implementation, Arief said, Bapanqs together with Perum Bulog and ID FOOD, as well as associations of other food business actors will provide various fresh foodstuffs at reasonable prices, and are relatively cheap below market prices.

In addition to maintaining supply stability and food prices, continued Arief, this simultaneous GPM is also intended as an effort to control inflation.

"People can get complete information through social media channels and official websites of local governments in their respective regions," he explained.
