JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is looking for recommendations for mining business permit (WIUP) areas issued by former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba. The deepening was carried out by examining the Director of Mineral Concession at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Affairs Tri Winarno (TW) as a witness on Monday, August 5. "TW examination is related to the mining WIUP recommendation process in North Maluku issued by the Governor of AGK," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, August 14. Investigators also explored the connection of mining permit authorities that switched to the center, continued Tessa. Previously, the KPK named the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba as a suspect in the alleged money laundering crime (TPPU). He is suspected of washing money up to Rp100 billion. The determination of this suspect was carried out as the development of the alleged bribery of goods and services procurement project as well as the granting of permits within the North Maluku Provincial Government. He was detained along with five other suspects since December 20 after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT). In addition, the KPK established Abdul Gani Kasuba's confidant, Muhaimin Syarif, who is the former chairman of the North Maluku Gerindra Party DPD as a suspect.
