Jokowi Doesn't Want To Force ASN To Move To IKN September 2024

NUSANTARA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that he did not want to impose a transfer of state civil servants (ASN) to the capital city of Nusantara, East Kalimantan, as planned in September, if not ready. "The plan is still in September, but also to see here. Once again we don't want to force it, we don't want to force it," said President Jokowi when giving a statement after inaugurating the National Aquaculture Ceremony Plaza at IKN, East Kalimantan, Wednesday, August 14. The president said that ASN's move was adjusted to conditions in the field, such as the ASN flat (rusun) ready to be inhabited. The Head of State stated that ASN's move could be postponed if the facility was not ready. "If it is not ready, it will be postponed. Not wanting to force something that is not ready," said the President. Based on previous information, the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) revealed that the possibility of the first wave of ASN moving to the archipelago, East Kalimantan, in September 2024.

The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) stated that the gradual transfer of ASN to IKN from this year to 2029 goes through three priorities. The government prioritizes ASN that controls digital literacy to be transferred to IKN.
