Governor Explains Kaltara's Strategic Position As IKN Entrance
SEPAKU - Governors from 38 provinces in Indonesia gathered in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, to fulfill President Jokowi's invitation.
The presence of these governors is related to the coordination meeting (rakor) for the preparation of the Indonesian Birthday Ceremony (HUT) which will be held on August 17 at IKN.
President Jokowi not only invited governors, but also regents and mayors throughout Indonesia to attend the coordination meeting.
Previously, on Monday (12/8/2024), the governors arrived at Batakan Stadium, Balikpapan. Departure to IKN is divided into two stages, where the governor's entourage departs on Monday, the day before the coordination meeting, while the group of regents and mayors departs on Tuesday (13/8) morning.
The Governor of Kaltara, Zainal A. Paliwang, took advantage of this opportunity to explain Kaltara's strategic position as the province closest to the State Capital (IKN).
"Kaltara has become an integral part of IKN development because in this area there is a national strategic project (PSN) in the form of an international industrial and port area, also known as the Indonesian Green Industrial Estate (KIHI)," said Zainal, Tuesday, August 13.
Zainal said the local government of Kaltara had set a number of strategic programs to prepare the province as the entrance and frontline of the IKN.
"One of the main focuses is increasing local food productivity. Since 2021, the North Kalimantan Provincial Government has been assigned to support the provision of food commodities, especially rice, corn and soybeans, for IKN needs. Efforts to develop the area of planting and reduce land conversion continue to be carried out to achieve this goal," he explained.
"We are focusing on improving various aspects to ensure that Kaltara can function optimally as an entrance to IKN," said Zainal Paliwang.
