JAKARTA - Head of the Public Relations Division of the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management (Kadiv Humas PPKGBK), Asep Triyadi, conveyed the latest conditions regarding the development of the revitalization of grass at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK).

The current situation was shared ahead of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualification Third Round match.

Previously, it was known that the GBK management continued to make improvements and thorough preparations so that SUGBK could be used properly during the Indonesia vs Australia national team match on September 10, 2024.

"It is true that grass in SUGBK is still in the maturation stage after installation. As GBK managers, we have made maximum efforts to ensure grass grows strong and is in the best condition," said Asep in a statement received on Monday, August 12, 2024.

"We provide the best intake for grass through intensive maturation, optimal rolling techniques, and other technical treatments every day."

"We are doing our best so that the grass is ready to be used as soon as possible," he said again.

In the midst of efforts to complete the revitalization of grass, Asep then said that his party also continues to report work developments to related parties.

This is done so that the development of SUGBK grass repairs is known together.

"In addition, we will routinely provide official reports regarding the development of grass conditions to PSSI and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as the Ministry of State Secretariat every week."

"We are very confident in this intensive care, grass is more ready to be used in accordance with international standards," he said.

Furthermore, Asep said that the SUGBK field would also be reviewed directly by FIFA. The World Football Federation will ensure field readiness.

"In the end, the final decision regarding the feasibility of grass will be determined by the FIFA Match Competition through a final check," he said.
