Sad News, University of Indonesia Political Observer Arbi Sanit Dies At RSCM
JAKARTA - University of Indonesia (UI) political observer Arbi Sanit reportedly passed away, Thursday, March 25, at 07.15 WIB. The deceased breathed his last at RSCM Jakarta at the age of 81 years.
This sad news was conveyed by Faculty of Social Science and Political Science UI lecturer Nur Iman Subono (Boni).
"Ladies and gentlemen, you just got the news that Mr. Arbi Sanit has passed away. Hopefully the late will find a place worthy of His side. His sins are forgiven and his deeds accepted by God", said Boni, Thursday, March 25.
He also prays for the family to be courageous in giving up the deceased. "Families left behind are patient, sincere, and tawakkul to accept it. Amen", he said.
Previously, the only son of the deceased, Feri Sanit, had also conveyed sad news. "Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un has passed away, my father ARBI SANIT at RSCM 07.15 am, Please open the sorry door if there are mistake during his life", wrote Feri Sanit in his message, Thursday.
Arbi Sanit was diagnosed with acute heart failure, there was fluid in the lungs. Before he died, Arbi Sanit was brought to ICCU RSCM on Wednesday, March 24, and put on a ventilator at 22.00 WIB.
Arbi Sanit was born in Painan, West Sumatra, June 4, 1939. Author of the book Sistem Politik Indonesia (1981); Perwakilan Politik di Indonesia (1985); and Partai, Pemilu, dan Demokrasi (1997) is one of Indonesia's political experts. He has been a lecturer in political science at the University of Indonesia and the University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka.
This fifth child of 11 siblings obtained a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Social Science and Political Science UI in 1969 with a thesis of the Indonesian Communist Party: Sumber Kekuatan Politik di Pedalaman Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Timur 1952-1965. Then, he took the Indonesian Political System Non-Degree Program at the University of Wisconsin, United States (1973-1974).
