Apart From Being Sold Cheaply, The IPhone 12 Will Be Small In Size
JAKARTA - Apple launched the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max in size dimensions that are quite large. However, new rumors say that Apple will launch the iPhone 12 with a smaller size span, namely a 5.4-inch screen.
Based on a report obtained by MacRumors, it states that the Chinese manufacturing company BOE Technology will be selected by Apple to make a 5.4-inch screen on the 2020 iPhone. This rumor is strengthened by the launch of the iPhone 12.
If true, the screen measuring 5.4 inches will be similar to the predecessor generation iPhone 5. The dimensions of this screen, even smaller than the iPhone X measuring 5.6 inches.
However, it seems that with what Apple is currently doing, it makes some people suspect that this smartphone vendor from Cupertino, United States (US) is less interested in competing with Samsung, which has just launched its new product Galaxy S20.
Even so, Apple currently chooses to focus on what the market needs. In fact, MacRumors claims this 5.4-inch phone will be the smallest iPhone series to have a notch.
This means that FaceID technology will appear on smaller phones. It also confirms that the notch position will come in some form on the upcoming iPhone 12.
Previous rumors had stated that FaceID technology would not be embedded in the front camera on the iPhone 12 variant. However, it seems that Apple has found a solution to that problem.
On the other hand, regarding the launch of this latest iPhone product, an analyst at JP Morgan predicts Apple will delay the launch of the iPhone 12 for the next one to two months. For various reasons, especially because of the spread of COVID-19 around the world.
The COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on the production process, due to lockdowns in a number of countries which hampered the delivery of Apple device components. JP Morgan analysts said the delay would not be possible until next year. The reason is, Apple is quite dependent on new products to raise the matter of company revenue that is getting further away from normal.
"Given some bottlenecks in EVT (technical verification test, now scheduled for mid-April), PVP (production verification test) and pilot production (now scheduled for late June) we therefore believe a delay of launching a new iPhone by one to two months is possible," said the analyst. JP Morgan, Gokul Hariharan.
Hariharan also predicted that the lockdown in the US could delay plans for cellular operators to build 5G networks, which would affect the timing of the launch of new iPhones that also support 5G connectivity.
"The delay in building the 5G network in the US with the current lockdown may be a major risk for the launch of the 5G iPhone," Hariharan said.
Previously, Apple had also signed a new chip agreement with a Taiwanese processor manufacturer, TSMC. It is suspected that the iPhone 12 will be equipped with the Bionic A14 chipset from the factory. Still like the rumors, the iPhone 12 is also rumored to be in the ranks of cheap iPhones like the first generation iPhone SE.
