Huawei And JAC Collaborate To Present New Brand 'Maextro', Targeting Luxury Markets

JAKARTA - The collaboration of technology companies with automakers in China continues, the latest Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC) have worked together to create a new automotive brand called Maextro. The target market itself is called an ultra-extreme market.

CNevpost reported, quoted Monday, August 12, Chairman of Huawei's Smart Car Solutions Unit Richard Yu, said that the company would help automakers promote the improvement of the smart car industry.

Maextro itself will be the fourth new brand co-built by Huawei and local car manufacturers, and will become the brand that has the highest position under the Huawei HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) umbrella. Three other brands created by Huawei and other car companies are Aito, created by Huawei with the Seres Group; Luxeed, made with Chery; and Stelato.

Based on a local media report Cailian from a source familiar with the matter, Maextro's first model went on sale in the first quarter of next year, and JAC is currently building 38 test cars.

"JAC has accelerated recruitment related to the Maextro program, with various positions including quality system specialists, quality review specialists, product line quality specialists, and vehicle quality specialists," the local media report said.

Last month, JAC CEO Xiang Xingchu also said in his speech that the first product in collaboration with Huawei had entered the vehicle validation stage.

He revealed the first vehicle is expected to launch from production at the end of this year, with an official launch on August 23, while sales take place in the first half of next year.
