There Are Four Foreign Companies That Will Invest In IKN

JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that there are at least 4 foreign companies that will invest in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).

"FDI (foreign direct investment) there are about four companies that will enter (to IKN)," said Bahlil after the inaugural plenary cabinet meeting in the capital city of Nusantara, Monday, August 12.

As for the country of origin of foreign investment, he ensured that there were Japanese and South Korean names of the 4 investments that would invest in the property sector and the construction of public facilities.

"For property development first, yes. We focus on property and public facilities," explained Bahlil.

Later, Bahlil continued, investment from the 4 countries will be included in the second cluster of investment.

Bahlil admitted that he was sure that the investment task force would accelerate development and investment in IKN.

"Investment in IKN has more than IDR 50 trillion, which is included in the first phase in the first cluster. In the second cluster, investment from FDI has started to enter foreigners," continued Bahlil.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed that there have been dozens of infrastructure projects that have laid the first stone (groundbreaking) in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN). The investment value reached IDR 56.2 trillion until August 12, 2024.

"And as of today, I also need to say that it is beyond the budget of the incoming investment budget of Rp56.2 trillion from 55 (projects) that have been groundbreaking," he said at the opening of the plenary cabinet meeting, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, August 12.
