US 2024 Election: Harris Wins In Three Main States

JAKARTA - The poll shows Democratial candidate Kamala Harris excels over her Republican rivals in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is ahead of her Republican rival Donald Trump in three warfield states that will be key in the upcoming United States general election, following a new poll.

Reporting from AlJazeera, a New York Times/Siena College poll released on Saturday showed Harris gained 50 percent support from voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, compared to Trump's 46 percent support in each state.

The findings come just weeks after Harris unveiled his push for the White House following US President Joe Biden's decision last month to come out of candidacy over concerns about his age and ability to take office again.

Since Harris officially launched its campaign, the US vice president has gained strong support from the main segment of the Democratic Party base, especially young voters and people of color and donors and prominent Democratic lawmakers.

His decision to appoint Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as his vice presidential candidate this week also sparked a new wave of enthusiasm for Democrat tickets
