Gempa Bumi Guncang Tokyo Magnitudo 5,3 Usai Jepang Mengeluarkan Peringatan Gempa Besar

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 struck Tokyo, Japan on Friday, August 9 evening.

The earthquake came a day after the government issued a first warning about the risk of a large earthquake on the coast of the Pacific country.

Reported by Reuters, the government issued an emergency warning in the event of a strong earthquake in the capital and prefectures of Kanagawa, Saitama, Yamanashi and Shizuoka, without a tsunami warning.

The earthquake rocked buildings in Tokyo after the warning.

Tokyo Metro had stopped a train line but the service was immediately resumed.

Damage in the area most strongly affected, such as the western part of Kanagawa Prefecture, is not yet known for sure.
