Questions About Queen Elizabeth's Post-Positive COVID-19 Condition Prince Charles

JAKARTA - The heir to the British throne, Prince Charles, has tested positive for COVID-19. However, it is known that Prince Charles has no severe symptoms. Now, he is isolating himself in Scotland. His wife, Camilla, tested negative for COVID-19 despite continuing to self-isolate.

"Prince Charles has tested positive for the coronavirus. He is showing mild symptoms, but is still doing well and working from home for the last few days as usual ... The Duchess of Cornwall (Camilla) has also been tested but does not have the virus," statement from Clarence House.

Prince Charles is not in hospital isolation, the royal government said. Previously, Prince Charles was tested for COVID-19 because of his age and medical history. He has also spoken to the Queen and her sons, William and Harry.

British Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson wishes Prince Charles a speedy recovery. PM Johnson is also scheduled to hold a weekly audience with Queen Elizabeth by telephone, said a spokesman for PM Johnson.

Prince Charles started showing mild symptoms over the weekend, meaning he could have been exposed before he meets Queen Elizabeth on March 12. Prince Charles then took the test on Monday 23 March and received the results on Tuesday 24 March.

Queen Elizabeth's condition

The kingdom declined to comment on whether Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip had tested for COVID-19 or not. However, it is very important to know how Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip are, given that they are both elderly and extremely vulnerable.

The UK Public Health Service or the US Centers for Control and Prevention of Infectious Diseases (CDC) say there are indications that a person may be transmitting the virus before showing symptoms. Meanwhile, someone will be very contagious when they already have symptoms.

"Her Majesty is well. The last queen met Prince Charles after a ceremony on the morning of March 12 and followed all advice regarding his health," Buckingham Palace said.

After meeting the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla traveled to Highgrove House, her home in western England. The two of them then traveled to Balmoral in Scotland on Sunday 22 March.

A number of household staff at Balmoral are now also required to isolate themselves in their homes as they must have had direct contact with Prince Charles.

"It is impossible to say who Prince Charles contracted the virus from because of the large number of public events he has engaged in over the last few weeks," said Clarence House.

Prince Charles also met Prince Albert of Monaco on March 10. Prince Albert also tested positive for COVID-19.
