New Leader Of Hamas Yahya Sinwar: We Will Never Decide On Relations With Iran

JAKARTA - The new Head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Yahya Sinwar, emphasized that his group would never cut ties with Iran, saying no one could gun the Palestinian militant group.

In his speech before a youth group in Gaza, Sinwar reiterated Hamas' position regarding the extension of the Resistance weapon and the occupation regime.

Sinwar stated that no one can force Hamas to recognize "Israel" as a legitimate country.

"No one can force us to lay down arms," he stressed, responding to Zionist and United States pressure to strip off the weapons of Resistance and their claims to form a national unity government with other Palestinian groups after the Gaza war.

"We will never cut ties with Iran and other parties," he said.

The replacement for the late Ismail Haniyeh stated, "We are fighters to realize Palestinian and revolutionary freedoms to grant freedom rights to our nation".

"We will fight the invaders in accordance with human rights law, and we will continue to strengthen our military force to protect our nation," he explained.

In addition, Yahya Sinwar also warned Zionists about the prisoner swap negotiations, saying, without the release of Palestinian prisoners, their prisoners would never be released.

It is known, Hamas announced Yahya Sinwar as the new Head of the Political Bureau earlier this week. He replaced the previous official, Ismail Haniyeh, who died as a result of an attack on his inn in Tehran, while attending the inauguration of Iran's elected president Masoud Pezeshkian last week.
