Yamaha Electric Sport Motorcycle Patent Images Leaked, What Does It Look Like?

JAKARTA - As car manufacturers are increasingly serious about switching to electric vehicles, big motorcycle manufacturers seem more relaxed. Unlike motorcycle startups, two-wheeled giants are actually very minimal in the availability of their electric motorcycle lines.

Yamaha has chosen to work behind the scenes, quietly developing a high-performance, environmentally friendly electric motorcycle.

Reported by BikeWale, Friday, August 9, a patent image of the motorcycle has been leaked showing that this vehicle has a large battery placed in the engine compartment.

Unlike some high-performance motorcycles that use liquid cooling to cool their batteries, the Yamaha battery design suggests that it is air-cooled.

This can be seen from the many fins on the sides and bottom of the battery case. This is said to increase the level of rigidity while keeping the weight of the vehicle under control.

It is said that the air-cooled system can help keep the overall weight of the bike low and eliminate the need to install a radiator, coolant reservoir and pipes into the motorcycle which takes up more space.

Then, the battery is covered by a steel trellis frame that is suspended from USD forks and a high-mounted monoshock. Unfortunately, further details about the bike are still limited.

The motorcycle is expected to be able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in an instant. Because the motorcycle is a high-performance one, of course its appearance will be much sportier than the others.

Other details about the model include the rim design, dual disc brakes at the front, and disc brakes at the rear. The fairing and tail are more aggressive and the trellis frame is left open.

It is likely that this electric motorcycle will be displayed at one of the upcoming motorcycle exhibitions where Yamaha will measure customer interest before deciding to sell it.
