Bribe Defendant Edhy Prabowo Claimed To Be Asked For Rp. 5 Billion For The Export Permit
JAKARTA - Director of PT Dua Putera Perkasa Pratama (PT DPPP), Suharjito, acknowledged the provision of a commitment fee to smooth the export license for lobster or fries.
This admission was conveyed by Suharjito in the follow-up trial with the agenda of hearing expert testimonies that relieve him.
Initially, Suharjito mentioned problems in the processing of export permits in the era of Edhy Prabowo's leadership as Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.
"In the course of the permit application from May 4 to June 18, there were only (permits). We already understand cultivation, but we are experiencing difficulties in matters of permits," Suharjito said during a trial at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 24.
Suharjito also ordered his subordinate, Agus, to ask the Director General of Cultivation questions about the things that hindered the permit. Finally, it was discovered that the factor for not issuing the permit was due to the commitment fee.
"Brother Agus asked the Director General of Cultivation, (he said) asked Stafsus, there lies the commitment that must be conveyed to me (in the form of) money, said Brother Agus that the range of Rp5 billion can be paid in installments," said Suharjito.
Suharjito admitted that he agreed to this request. He submitted a commitment fee of 77 thousand United States dollars (US).
"In the end I paid the 77 thousand US dollar commitment (fee) which was conveyed by Agus. I am in installments, 77 thousand US dollars equals Rp1 billion," said Suharjito.
In this case, Suharjito was charged with bribing former Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Edhy Prabowo in the amount of IDR 2.1 billion. The bribe is related to the export license for lobster or fry.
In the indictment, Suharjito stated that he gave bribes to Edhy Prabowo through the special staff of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Safri and Andreau Misanta Pribadi. In addition, the name of Edhy's Personal Secretary, Amiril Mukminin, and Ainul Faqih as the personal staff of Edhy Prabowo's wife, namely, Iis Rosita Dewi, were also written.
Suharjito was charged with Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 13 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
