Google Play Store Wants To Show Local Recommendations Based On User Locations
JAKARTA Google hasn't finished rolling out the Collection widget for the Play Store, but the company already added other new features. Now, Google Play will provide application recommendations based on location. If the feature is already available on your Play Store device, Google will display a message that reads, "Want to see local recommendations on Google Play?" At the bottom of the message, Google says that this location is only used for recommendations. "(if allowed) Play can use the location of your device to recommend applications, offers, and other relevant local content in your area," explains Google. Still in the same pop-up window, you will see two buttons that can be tapped, namely Continue and Not Thank You. If you click the button Continue, Google Play Store will apply for permission to access your location. There are three options that can be selected, among them When Using the App, Only This Time, and Don't Allow. The options you choose will be kept in mind by the system. If you don't object to location instances, you can choose the first option.

Once given permission, all apps and offers will be adjusted to your location. Access to this location can still be disabled by opening the Play Store Settings, after that click the General menu, then disable the Use Device Location option. Reporting from 9to5google, this feature is added to Google Play version 42.1.27 for Android devices. This local location permit feature is still rolling out in stages so that not many Play Store users have seen this feature.
