Heavy Equipment Deployed To Mud Dredge The Location Of Missing Mining Workers In The North Konawe River
The joint SAR team continues to search for Ahmadia Ahmad (47), a mining worker who drowned as a result of being swept away by the current of the Alenggo River, North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra).
"The search started at 07.00 WITA by dividing into three teams," said Head of the Kendari Basarnas Aminuddin in Kendari, Thursday, August 8, confiscated by Antara.
On the fourth day of this search, the joint SAR team was divided into three teams.
The first team, combing the river flow using a rubber boat from point A to point B (according to the search map),
Furthermore, the second team combed the riverbank using a trail to search using the thermal drone at the river basin spot.
"And for the third team from the company using heavy equipment to clean up mud in the river, at a point where the victim is suspected of being buried," he said.

Aminuddin revealed that the search area from point A or the estimated point of the victim's last location went to point B or river estuary, according to the sweeping map with a search distance of 75 kilometers.
"The current weather is cloudy and has the potential for light rain in several areas, with wind speeds of about three kilometers per hour from the northwest," said Aminuddin.
He also revealed that in the search for the victims there were several elements involved, including the rescue of the Kendari Basarnas, the North Konawe SAR Post, the Kodim and the North Konawe Police, the Wiwirano Police, the company, as well as the surrounding community and the families of the victims.
As previously reported, the disappearance of the victim began on Monday (5/7) at around 08.00 WTA when the victim and his partner headed to the mine site on foot. On the way to the mine site the victim crossed the river at 08.36 WITA.
"When crossing the river, the victim was swept away by the current causing the victim to be carried away and drowned. The victim's colleague at that time immediately tried to ask for help from local residents," he said.
However, until this information was received, the search for victims had not yielded any results.
