East Aceh Police Thwarts Circulation Of 5.2 Kilograms Of Shabu
The East Aceh Police Joining Team thwarted the circulation of methamphetamine-type drugs weighing up to 5.29 kilograms and arrested two suspected perpetrators who were carrying the prohibited items.
East Aceh Police Chief AKBP Nova Suryandaru said the two perpetrators had the initials BA (37) and RI (30). Both are residents of Percut Sei Tua, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.
"Both were arrested on the Banda Aceh-Medan highway, in Gampong Baro, Darul Aman District, East Aceh Regency, on Saturday (3/8) early morning. Together with the two, 5.29 kilograms of methamphetamine were also secured," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 7.
The failure of drug trafficking began with information received by the Darul Aman Police, East Aceh Police, that there was a car suspected of carrying prohibited items of methamphetamine.
Based on this information, the Darul Aman Police coordinated with the Intelligence and Security Unit of the East Aceh Police and the East Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Unit.
"Furthermore, the joint team from the East Aceh Police investigated the information. Until finally, the police found a suspected car. When the car was stopped, two people fled," said the Police Chief.

The team then searched the car and found a sack containing five packages containing methamphetamine. Officers also chased the alleged perpetrator until they finally arrested both of them.
The two perpetrators are suspected of violating Article 115 paragraph (2) subs Article 114 paragraph (2) subs Article 112 paragraph (2) subs Article 132 paragraph (1) Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning narcotics in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
"The threat of punishment is a maximum imprisonment of 20 years or life imprisonment or the death penalty. Now, the two perpetrators together with evidence are secured at the East Aceh Police Headquarters for further investigation," said Nova Suryandaru.
