Mayor Of Batu Dewanti Rumpoko Inspected By KPK, Investigating Gratuities In City Government 2011-2017

JAKARTA - Mayor of Batu Dewanti Rumpoko was summoned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He was examined in the case of receiving gratuities at the City Government of Batu in 2011-2017.

"The person concerned was summoned as a witness," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri, Wednesday, March 24.

In investigating this gratification case, the KPK also summoned Dewanti's personal driver, Yunedi; Director of PT Tiara Multi Teknik, Yusuf; and Director of PT Borobudur Medecon, Ferryanto Tjokro. The three of them were also summoned as witnesses.

Ali did not explain what the investigators will study in this examination. However, the four people were summoned because they were deemed to have knowledge of the corruption allegation that was being investigated by the KPK. An examination of the four was carried out at the Batu City Hall, East Java.

It is known that this case originated from the development of the case of the former Mayor of Batu, Eddy Rumpoko. He was sentenced to five years and six months imprisonment at the cassation level for being proven to have accepted a bribe of Rp.295 million and a Toyota Alphard worth Rp1.6 billion from businessman Filipus Djap.

In this case, the KPK has also conducted searches in a number of places in Batu City, East Java and found evidence related to the alleged gratification case.
