The Ministry Of Education Says 10,042 Palestinian Students Have Died Since The War Broke Out Last Year

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education said about 10,043 students were killed and 16,423 injured since the onset of Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank broke out in October last year.

The ministry said in a statement the number of students killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of aggression reached more than 9,936, and those injured reached 15,897.

"Meanwhile, 107 students were killed in the West Bank and 526 others were injured," the ministry said, launching WAFA August 6.

He further explained, at least 504 teachers and administrators were killed and 3,426 injured in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, and more than 117 detained in the West Bank.

In addition to human resources, the ministry also said about 119 government schools in the Gaza Strip were badly damaged, and more than 62 schools were completely destroyed. Meanwhile, 191 government and school schools affiliated with the United Nations Aid and Work Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) were bombed and damaged.

The ministry added that about 20 universities were badly damaged and more than 31 university buildings were completely destroyed, while 57 were partially destroyed in the Gaza Strip.

"In the West Bank, 69 schools were damaged and 5 universities were repeatedly raided," the ministry said.

Separately, medical sources in Gaza announced on Tuesday that at least 30 people were killed and 66 others injured as a result of Israeli attacks in the past 24 hours.

That brings the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the latest war in Gaza on October 7, 2023, to 39,653. Meanwhile, the number of injured victims reached 91,535 people.
