Putin Congratulates The New Position Of President Of Vietnam To Lam
JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Vietnam's president To Lam on his new post, the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Communist Party.Putin expressed interest in continuing constructive dialogue to increase bilateral cooperation. Earlier on the same day, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported that To Lam had been elected as the Committee's Secretary-General."Dear Mr. To Lam, please accept your sincere congratulations on your election as Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Communist Party. I hope to continue the constructive dialogue and cooperation on actual issues of the bilateral and international agenda," Putin said, as quoted by the Kremlin.The bilateral cooperation was carried out to meet the common interests of Russia and Vietnam as two countries that have been close for a long time, as well as aimed at strengthening security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, the president said."The election results have ensured that political authorities are strong and prove To Lam's contribution to Vietnam's economic development and strengthen the country's position on the world stage," Putin's letter read.
"I wish you success in the affairs of parties and countries, as well as always healthy and prosperous," added the Russian president.To Lam is the third official to hold the top position of the party and state in Vietnam, after the founder of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh.
