Hundreds Of Citizens Parcel The Stabbing Victim's Body, Manokwari Traffic Paralyzed
MANOKWARI - Hundreds of residents in Manokwari city, West Papua, paraded the body of HBGS (36), a victim of the stabbing incident from the morgue of the Manokwari Regional General Hospital. The body was paraded to the funeral home in Wosi West Manokwari village.
The mass action of parading the victims' bodies triggered panic, causing traffic activity and the economic center in the city of Manokwari to be paralyzed.
West Papua Police Head of Public Relations Kombes Adam Erwindi confirmed the incident. He appealed to the public not to be anarchist and to entrust the case to the police for legal proceedings.
"The perpetrator has been arrested. For that, the public does not need to take any other action that violates the law", said Adam Erwindi as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 23.
The perpetrator is known to have the initials AA (22). Two victims died, namely DLW (40) and HBGS (35).
"The provisional motive is based on the chronology of the incident that the stabbing incident was because the perpetrator felt offended. It started from an argument between the two victims and the perpetrator in one of the dormitory on Transito road, Wosi Village", said Adam.
Several joint personnel was still on standby at several locations as of Tuesday evening.
