Chandra Asri Supports BNPB In Handling COVID-19
JAKARTA- To support the government in its efforts to respond to the transmission of the COVID-19 corona virus, Chandra Asri donated 20,000 rapid COVID-19 test kits along with 105,000 surgical masks and 20,000 N95 masks, as well as 20,000 hazmat suits (protective suits) to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) .
BNPB also appreciates this, because Chandra Asri through the Satu Hati Berbakti (Sahati) Foundation has participated in delivering donations.
Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Lt. Gen. Doni Monardo, emphasized that public participation is important because it becomes a joint force that relieves this non-natural disaster.
"For us, public participation, especially from the business world, is also very important. The business world will not be successful without the creation of a stable situation. Thank you very much, "said Doni Monardo, who is now the Chair of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19, in a statement received on Thursday, March 26.
Meanwhile, Erwin Ciputra, President Director of Chandra Asri Petrochemical, said that this donation is a form of concern for the largest petrochemical company in the country to prevent the spread of the corona outbreak across the country.
Erwin said that some of the test kits will also be handed over to several hospitals in the Banten area. A total of 500 test kits will be handed over to the Tangerang Regional General Hospital (RSUD), and another 500 will be handed over to Serang Hospital and Krakatau Medika Hospital in Cilegon.
The handover to this area is also a form of Chandra Asri's concern for the area where the company operates, and its residents.
"We are always committed to supporting the Indonesian government and the Indonesian people in situations such as the outbreak of COVID-19. We are especially concerned for them and their families who are affected by this outbreak. We hope that with the addition of this test kit, we can mitigate the spread of the outbreak and reduce the number of positive cases, "said Erwin.
He explained, Chandra Asri also followed calls from the Central Government and the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta to implement social distancing and work from home policies to ensure the safety and health of employees.
Doni Monardo, added that his party also appealed to other entrepreneurs to participate in the assistance program. Also, especially for the fulfillment of protective equipment for medical workers on the front lines, so that they can work well and their families also get a hope, that their husbands, wives, children who do not work do not work alone.
BNPB also hopes that in each region, awareness will be built together through volunteer organizations that support the work of health workers, doctors, hospital workers nurses, including ambulance drivers.
