Marketing Personnel Are Now Being Replaced By Technology

JAKARTA - The phenomenon of the COVID-19 pandemic makes everyone have to adjust to the existing situation. One of them is the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in every aspect of life, including for doing business.

"With today's situation, of course, the business will be very efficient, because most people only do marketing using digital communication tools", said Member of Commission I DPR-RI, Ahmad Rizki Sadig, in a BAKTI Kominfo discussion entitled "Pemanfaatan TIK Untuk Pendidikan dan Bisnis", Tuesday 23 March.

He explained, marketing a product now only requires a means of communication. So that according to him, the work of marketing personnel is almost unnecessary.

"Because now it is enough to take pictures, upload them in digital communication tools. Marketing personnel who work in and out of shops from house to house or perhaps from office to office are no longer needed", he said.

On the same occasion, Freddy Herman as a Public Relations and Public Communication Practitioner said that currently, 202.6 million people use the internet, or 73.9 percent of Indonesia's population. Then mobile phone users 338.2 million or 124 percent of the population.

"Active internet users are 142.8 million or 53 percent of the population, active social media use is 175.4 million or 64 percent of the population so that the rapid development of ICT produces various kinds of products, types, and creates new jobs", said Freddy.
